• What is Jump Finance and where is it from?
    Jump Finance is a technology company that helps students at the University of the Gambia finance their tuition to continue their post-secondary studies. It is based out of Austin, TX in the United States and Banjul, The Gambia.
  • Who is Jump Finance for?
    Students studying at the Gambia University who need a way to finance their higher education.
  • How long does the application process last?
    The length of the application process depends on you. If you are proactive and quickly provide required documentation, take required assessments, verify your information with a Jump Finance representative in a small interview, the process will move quicker. Most applicants can comfortably complete the process within 2-3 days.
  • What documents and what do I need to qualify for a tuition advance?
    To qualify for a tuition advance you need to be 18+ years old, be studying at the University of The Gambia (UTG) and submit the following information on our secure server:
    • Proof of Identity (National Identity Card / Passport / Birth Certificate)
    • Academic Transcript Summary Page from UTG Portal that shows your GPA
    • UTG Invoice from Office of Director of Finance
  • What does the application process look like?
    There are four quick steps to receiving a Jump Finance tuition advance:
    1. Application with document submission
    2. Verify your information with a Jump Finance representative (we will reach out to you within 3 days of when you submit your application!)
    3. E-sign your tuition agreement
    4. Pay your application fee (10% of your first tuition advance).
    Once you complete these four steps, you are officially enrolled with Jump Finance and ready to study stress-free!
  • Do I need collateral or a guarantor?
    You do not need collateral or a guarantor to apply for a tuition advance.
  • What are the fees?
    Jump Finance charges an application fee and a monthly membership fee:
    • Application Fee: One time fee on first tuition advance of 10% of the tuition advance
    • Membership Fee during studies: 200 Dalasi monthly fee during studies
    • Membership Fee 6 months after graduating: 400 Dalasi monthly fee
  • Why does Jump Finance charge fees?
    Jump Finance is a social impact business. For a business to grow, it must have a sustainable source of revenue. We do our best to provide students with the lowest rates possible while empowering us to continue to serve more students.
  • What is the minimum repayment?
    • Minimum Tuition Advance payment during studies: 1000 Dalasi + 200 Membership fee
    • Minimum Tuition Advance payment 6 months after graduating: 2000 Dalasi + 400 Membership fee
  • Can I pay my tuition advance down faster if I want to?
    Of course! You can pay it down your tuition advance as fast as you would like. We encourage students to do so, as this will incur less fees
  • What day is repayment due?
    Repayment is always due on the 5th of every month. You will receive an invoice and automatic reminders.
  • Example Tuition Advance

    You take out a tuition advance of D. 18.000 to help pay for your last semester of university. An example tuition advance agreement is below:

    Tuition Advance Size: D 18.000

    Application Fee: D 1.800

    Monthly repayment for 9 months while studying: D 1000 + D 200 membership fee = D 1200

    Monthly repayment for 6 months after graduating: D 1000 + D 200 monthly membership fee = D 1200

    Monthly repayment for 3 months after starting new job: D 2000 + D 400 monthly membership fee = D 2400

    Total Tuition Advance Repayment: D 18.000

    Total Application Fee: D 1.800

    Total Monthly Membership Fees: D 4.200

  • What happens if I get a scholarship?
    If you receive a Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) scholarship (or any other type of scholarship) that pays off your past and future UTG tuition payments, you will released from future commitment with Jump Finance and will be refunded your tuition advance payments when UTG is paid in full from the scholarship. Note: the Jump Finance application fee and membership fees are non-refundable.
